Prior to the start of the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil, T-Mobile announced that its customers will get free unlimited high-speed data in the country so that they can continue to share their experiences at the games without having to worry about overage charges. It’s now taking things up a notch, Magenta has announced today that customers will also get free unlimited high-speed data for the Paralympic Games in Brazil.
Right up till the close of the Paralympic Games on September 18th, all T-Mobile Simple Choice postpaid customers will automatically get free unlimited high-speed data in Brazil. They are promised the fastest available roaming speeds up to 4G LTE.
Customers also get free worldwide texting while calls within Brazil and back to the United States are free as well. This will be great for those who are in Brazil to watch the games as mobile data while roaming abroad can prove to be very expensive.
T-Mobile is also going to provide family members of athletes representing Team USA with free T-Mobile service as well as a Galaxy S7 edge and a Samsung Gear 360 camera so that they can enjoy their use during their travel to Brazil.
“These athletes have trained hard and we want their families to stream, snap and share this historic experience without worrying about coming home to a ridiculous wireless phone bill,” said CEO of T-Mobile John Legere.
