Earlier today T-Mobile announced its uncarrier 12 move which kills data plans for good and offers a single unlimited option to postpaid and eventually to prepaid customers. Sprint is following up with its own announcement today. It has launched Unlimited Freedom which provides two lines of unlimited talk, text, and data for $100 per month.
Sprint is going to offer Unlimited Freedom starting tomorrow. It will provide subscribers with unlimited talk, text, and optimized video, gaming, and music. They also get unlimited nationwide 4G LTE data for almost everything else.
Unlimited Freedom costs $60 per month for one line, $40 per month for a second line and $30 each for lines 3-10. Sprint doesn’t fail to mention in its press release that it’s offer beats T-Mobile’s on price, is better than AT&T’s which is only available to DirecTV customers, and reminds people that Verizon doesn’t even offer an unlimited data plan.
Like T-Mobile, it will also optimize video streaming on the unlimited data plan to 480p resolution. Gaming is capped up to 2mbps and music streams will play at up to 500kbps.
The carrier says that Unlimited Freedom provides subscribers with unprecedented value and simplicity. They can get all of these benefits on two lines for $100 per month without any access charges or hidden fees.
