Samsung recently launched its new phablet – the Galaxy Note 7 – and this is expected to be one of the best-selling Note handsets from Samsung is pre-order demand is any indication. It has already had to delay the release in several markets because it’s unable to keep up with demand. A new report out of Korea suggests that Samsung is going to produce as many as three million units of the Galaxy Note 7 per month in the third quarter of this year.
That’s because the company is expected to see Galaxy Note 7 shipments double over the Galaxy Note 5 but there’s actually a technical reason for that.
The Galaxy Note 5 was not immediately made available to consumers in Europe so it was a huge market that Samsung chose to skip. This time around, the company is going to launch its new flagship phablet in Europe and it’s certainly going to have to produce many more units to match demand.
When the Galaxy Note 5 was launched last year, Samsung had to produce around 1.6 million units per month on an average in order to meet demand. With shipments bound to rise as the handset is released across Europe, it makes sense for the company to effectively double the production rate as the Galaxy Note 7 will prove to be quite popular with customers.
