However Microsoft seems to be pretty sure of themselves about delivering what they are calling “true” 4K gaming to consoles. Speaking to DualShockers, Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg said, “We were really thoughtful about the specs we used to design Project Scorpio, and the focus was on how can we deliver true 4K gaming in the console space.”
He adds, “We’re confident that we’ll be able to deliver true 4K gaming with that, and that performance power is gonna bring great games to our fans in the console market.” In fact resolution and framerates is something of a contention when it comes to the Xbox platform, especially when compared against the PS4 where the latter more often than not seems to be able to get games running at 1080p @ 60fps, while the Xbox One has had to either drop it to 900p or have some kind of adaptive resolution to ensure smooth gameplay.
In any case we guess we have no choice but to wait and see what Microsoft’s Project Scorpio can truly bring to the table, but unfortunately we’ll have to wait a bit as Project Scorpio is only planned for a release in 2017.
