However it seems that Murray might have backtracked on his statement a bit. Speaking to the Daily Star Online, Murray stated that maybe he was a bit naive about wanting future content to be free, and that the developers aren’t ruling out the possibility of paid DLCs for the future of the game.
The good news is that for now and the foreseeable future, additional content will be free and that’s the way the developers are planning to keep things. However there is always the possibility that they could charge for it in the future, depending on the content and whether or not it would make sense.
According to Murray, “Maybe in the future there’s some reason why we just couldn’t possibly afford to do a certain feature without charging for it.” We suppose we’ll cross the bridge when the time comes, although his decision shouldn’t really come as a surprise given that this is pretty much the model adopted by the gaming industry at the moment.
