If you’re after a camera that you can use underwater, you’ll be pleased to learn that Nikon has announced the latest addition to their camera lineup in the form of the Coolpix W100. This is a compact camera with waterproof features, meaning that you can take it for a swim without worrying about it getting spoilt.
Starting with its ruggedness, Nikon is boasting that the camera will be waterproof in depths of up to 10m. It is also shockproof and will be able to withstand drops from a maximum height of 1.8m, so toss it around or dunk it underwater, either way you won’t have to worry about it getting ruined and you having to shell out for an expensive repair.
In terms of its camera specs, we’re looking at a 13.2MP sensor with a 3x optical zoom lens. It is also capable of recording Full HD video. There will also be the ability for users to add cartoon effects and various filters to the images, and users can also expect WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, thus allowing photos to be transferred wirelessly.
No word on pricing but given that it isn’t exactly a high-end camera, we doubt that it will set you back too much.
