Luke Cage was introduced to Netflix’s world of Marvel TV shows with Jessica Jones and the reluctant superhero is getting his own original series on Netflix. Marvel released a teaser at the San Diego Comic-Con but surely wasn’t enough. Netflix today released a new Luke Cage trailer which provides some glimpses of the show, reveals a bit about the plot, and reiterates the date when all episodes of Luke Cage will be available for binging.
Cage was introduced in Marvel and Netflix’s Jessica Jones. It’s in that show we found out about the tragic demise of Cage’s wife and his power of basically not taking any damage from physical attacks, that’s what makes him a superhero.
It was clear from the onset that Luke Cage would eventually get his own original series on Netflix and that it’s likely to follow the success of Netflix and Marvel’s other collaborations which include Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
Mike Colter is the actor playing Cage in this original series that’s going to be released all at once on Netflix come September 30th. The show will find Cage returning to Harlem where he must face his past and take on the criminal boss Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes played by Mahershala Ali.
