The report then went on to add that this lineup will consist of two SUVs and two sedans. This has since been semi-confirmed by Mercedes-Benz’s parent company Daimler AG who released a statement to Engadget that reads, “We can confirm that we are working on a large EV with a range between 400 and 500km (250-310 miles) based on a completely new architecture. Of course, we will have more cars to follow.”
So like we said, it is semi-confirmed as the statement more or less covers one of the initially rumored vehicles, but doesn’t really say that the rest of their plans are. There is no word on when these EVs will be making their debut, but September is a strong possibility as Mercedes-Benz’s David McCarthy stated that a concept electric vehicle would be shown off then, but whether or not that concept vehicle is related to this report is unclear.
Either way we guess we won’t have to wait too long to get an idea of what Mercedes is up to, so check back with us later for more details.
