Yesterday we reported on some leaked renders of an upcoming Xiaomi handset which looked quite similar to the Galaxy Note 7. It even had a dual-edge curved display like Samsung’s new phablet and now it appears that another Chinese OEMs is going down the same road. Latest renders of the Meizu Pro 6 Plus show that it may also feature a dual-edge curved display like the Galaxy Note 7.
Meizu has already confirmed that it’s going to conduct a media event on September 3rd to show off a new handset. It launched the Meizu Pro 6 back in April this year and this particular handset is believed to be the premium version.
The Meizu Pro 6 Plus is rumored to be powered by a Samsung Exynos 8890 processor, that’s the same processor that the Korean company uses in the Galaxy S7 series as well as the Galaxy Note 7.
This is why it won’t be surprising to find out that Samsung is supplying its dual-edge curved display to other OEMs. There have been rumors suggesting that major Chinese OEMs like Xiaomi and Meizu are going to source this display from Samsung.
Other specs are expected to include 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 12 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front camera with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Meizu is expected to unveil the handset on September 3rd, it will confirm pricing and availability at the event.
