You might want to be up and about after you’ve had a fast food meal as they are not often the healthiest of choices but we’ll have them anyway. McDonald’s always gives toys with Happy Meals so that parents and children keep coming back for more, and now it has started giving out activity trackers with the Happy Meals. This isn’t the first time the company has done this. I distinctly remember receiving a pedometer with a Happy Meal over a decade ago as part of McDonald’s Go Active! adult Happy Meals.
All Happy Meals sold in the United States and Canada will come with one of six Step-it fitness trackers. They don’t really offer a variety of features because what else do you expect from a free toy, they are basically good pedometers that blink quickly or slowly based on the child’s activity level.
“Step-it is in line with McDonald’s general philosophy for Happy Meal toys, which is to make toys that encourage either physical or imagination-based play,” said McDonald’s Canada Senior Marketing Manager, Michelle McIImoyle.
The fast food giant has said that this toy is going to be available with Happy Meals for four weeks. During this time, it will be advertising this fitness tracker on TV and will also include it in pre-roll ads on YouTube.
