It is also a programmable button meaning that you can use it to control whatever you like, as long as what you’re controlling is connected via Bluetooth or WiFi, so basically your smart home objects like Philips Hue lights, products from LIFX, Lutron, INSTEON, and more. Logitech also claims that it will work with IFTTT so really, while the outside looks deceptively simple, it could pull off some pretty complex tasks for you.
According to Logitech, “Each switch can be used to trigger three different custom commands. For instance, use a single press to turn all the lights in a room on or off. Or, use a double press at dinner time to dim the lights and turn on your favorite Sonos jazz station. And since it works with Logitech’s Harmony hub-based remotes, you could even set a long press to start Movie Time in the living room.”
The POP switch is also wireless meaning that there is literally no installation involved. All you have to is stick it onto any surface you want and you’re good to go. That being, it doesn’t exactly home cheap. The starter pack will set you back $100 and subsequent standalone buttons will go for $40 each.
