When you think of speakers, you might think of brands like Bose, Logitech, Harman Kardon, Bang & Olufsen, Bowers & Wilkins, and so on. However we should not forget the fact that companies such as LG are huge, which also means that they do more than just make washing machines, microwave ovens, and phones, they also make speakers.
Last year ahead of IFA 2015, the company took the wrap off some speakers, and it looks like they will be having a repeat performance this year. IFA 2016 will be kicking off in September, but it seems that LG can’t wait to show off what they’ve got and have since unveiled a new series of speakers under its PH lineup, the PH2, PH3, and the PS4.
What all these speakers have in common is that they offer up 360-degree sound, with the PH2 being the smallest and most portable, it is shaped like a hockey puck and has a splash-proof design, a 2.5-watt amplifier, and a battery life that is good for up to 6 hours. Then we also have the PH3 which is supposed to mimic the look of a candle, thanks to its built-in light that can be changed around to your liking.
It has a 3-watt amplifier and a larger battery that is said to be good for up to 10 hours. Last but not least is the PH4 which while funky in its design, isn’t exactly “out there” and kind of reminds us of the UE BOOM speakers. These speakers pack a bigger punch with a 16-watt amplifier and a 10 hour battery life. Pricing has yet to be determined, but the speakers are set for a launch in the US this coming fall.
