Pretty much all smartphones come with cameras built in these days, however if you want something that isn’t your run of the mill camera, Kyocera might have something for you. The company has recently announced the Kyocera DuraForce Pro, and what makes this phone different is that it comes with a built-in action cam.
According to the company, this camera will come with a 13MP rear-facing camera, its own image processing engine, and will come with several shooting modes that more active users might appreciate, such as underwater mode, sports mode, slow-mo, and timelapse. It also has a lens that provides a 135-degree field of view, and it can also record videos in Full HD.
The company also announced their plans to release a special case for the camera that will make it compatible with popular action camera mounts, and if you’re wondering why should you even bother, we guess the fact that it doubles up as a smartphone makes it a convenient solution. Other specs include a 5-inch Full HD display, it is also drop, dust, and waterproof with an IP68 certification.
Under the hood, we’re also looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 3,240mAh battery, and a pair of front-facing speakers. Kyocera plans to launch it in the US in the coming months, but no word on pricing just yet.
