As convenient as it is to store photos online, sometimes there are just some photos that are worth printing out and keeping in physical format. Unfortunately in this digital age, the act of scrapbooking is no longer as common as it used to be, but Google wants to lend a helping hand.
In a recent APK teardown, the folks at Android Police have discovered a new feature within Google Photos that makes references to a Photo Book of sorts. The details of this feature are a bit scarce, but there are references made to printing this Photo Book, indicating that maybe this feature could help users create a Photo Book and arrange it in such a way that all they need to do is print it out and they’re good to go.
Alternatively it is possible that maybe Google could be launching some kind of service to print photo books for its users, or maybe they could point users to third-party printing services, but like we said, details are scarce. However based on what we know about such features from other apps and services in the past, we imagine that users can pick some kind of layout, maybe add captions, icons, and so on.
It does seem a bit too early to tell, so we guess we’ll just have to wait until the next update to find out. However if you are an avid Google Photos user and wouldn’t mind printing out and keeping some of your more treasured photos in physical form, this is a feature that could be worth looking forward to.
