Google OnHub Routers Now Control Philips Hue Lights

Google-OnHub
You might not be aware but Google is in the business of selling wireless routers as well. The company launched its OnHub router last year. It’s a powerful router with a stylish design that offers a lot of features as well which will appeal to power users. It has been one full year since OnHub was released and to commemorate this milestone Google today announced the addition of a new feature. The OnHub routers are now capable of controlling your Philips Hue smart lighting system.

Philips Hue is the first connected device that you can control directly with OnHub, and I have a feeling that it’s certainly not going to be the last.

This integration means that users can control the Philips Hue lighting system without needing to install an additional app on their phone. When they are connected to OnHub, they just need to type “On.Here” inside a web browser on any mobile, computer or tablet. This lets them control the most popular features of Philips Hue from inside the browser.

That’s not all, though. Again, to commemorate the first anniversary of its router, Google is offering the OnHub router for $20 off. This offer is good for an entire month so have until September 30th to purchase it for $20 off from the Google Store and Amazon.
