Just yesterday we reported that according to the rumors, Square Enix’s upcoming epic Final Fantasy XV could be delayed to November. The game was originally scheduled for a release towards the end of September, but the reports claimed that we would most likely be seeing an end of November release instead.

It turns out the rumors were true, as per a post made on the official Final Fantasy XV Facebook page which links to the video above where the game’s director, Hajime Tabata, confirms the delay. He also explains the decision behind the delay, citing the need for further polish as one of the key reasons.

According to Tabata, he claims that the company had already completed the master version of the game, meaning that this is pretty much the version you can expect when you buy it. However claims that in terms of it being the highest possible quality, he feels that they have not quite reached that standard just yet.

He also went on to state that they were considering release a day one patch that would include all this added polish, but because not all machines would be connected to the internet in order to download the day one patch, it means that not all gamers would receive the same experience until they patched the game, which is why they have decided to delay the game until the 29th of November where it will contain everything that was meant to be in the day one patch and more.
