If you have read the Harry Potter series (who hasn’t?) you will be aware of Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them. It’s a book in the fictional wizarding world that’s mentioned often in the main Harry Potter books. Warner Bros. has already made a spinoff movie based on the book and even though it hasn’t been released as yet, the studio has confirmed a Fantastic Beasts sequel. It has also confirmed who is going to be writing the script for the sequel.
Warner Bros. confirmed today that the second movie in the Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them series is in the pipeline, and that series author J.K. Rowling will be penning the script with David Yates in the director’s chair. The movie has been scheduled for a global release on November 16th, 2018.
True Harry Potter fans will also be familiar with Yates’ work as he was the director of the final four Harry Potter movies. He’s also directing the first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie.
The movie’s protagonist is Newt Scamander who is played by Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne. The story is set decades before that of the main Harry Potter series. Warner Bros. has planned three movies in this series the last of which is likely to be released in November 2020.
The first Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them movie is going to hit the big screen later this year on November 18th.
