The company has recently announced a new app called “Lifestage” which has been created for teens in mind. When we say that it was made for teens in mind, we mean that literally because anyone older than 22 years old won’t be able to see anything other than their own profile. There are also tools built into the app to block and report any potential creeps posing as teens on the app.
According to the app’s description, “Lifestage makes it easy and fun to share a visual profile of who you are with your school network. Simply capture into a field on your profile, then post it on your profile. Once your school is unlocked, you can access the profiles of others in your school community (and all over!) so you can get to know people better in your school and nearby schools, discover others who are into the same stuff you are, and connect with them.”
Also it should be noted that while it is made by Facebook, users won’t need a Facebook account to sign up for it. Is this the hit app Facebook needs to bring teens back into the fold? Who knows? But in the meantime if you have a kid still in high school, maybe you can point them in the direction of the app which for now is an iOS-only app.
