When it comes to cheaters, Blizzard has a very low tolerance for such players, although they do seem to be particularly heavy handed with Overwatch. Given that it is a new IP and a potential competitive play game, we guess it is understandable. Right out of the gate we saw Blizzard ban Overwatch cheaters who thought they could get away with it.
Now thanks to footage posted online, we can actually see Blizzard’s ban in action when a streamer who was using an aimbot (basically a tool that helps you aim) was banned mid-game and mid-stream. It also seems that this isn’t just any Overwatch gamer. This gamer was in the top 200 rankings in the Korean server, meaning that he should be pretty known by some.
However we suppose now whether or not he got into the top 200 rankings by himself or if he cheated his way through is unclear, but it does seem rather foolish to publicly broadcast yourself cheating in a game that you know its developers will come down hard on you. Just recently Blizzard already warned gamers not to exploit a glitch in the Summer Games’ Lucioball, since exploiting glitches is also frowned upon by the company.
In any case you can check out the ban in the video above which happens around the 3 minute mark.
