A picture of a purported camera module for the smaller 4.7 inch iPhone has been leaked online and it hints at the possibility of the smaller iPhone featuring optical image stabilization. This feature has previously been limited to Apple’s larger iPhones that are denoted with the “Plus” moniker. Camera improvements are already expected to be some of the biggest changes that Apple has made to its new iPhones.

It has previously been rumored multiple times that the 4.7 inch iPhone 7 is going to feature optical image stabilization like the iPhone 7 Plus. This move would eliminate a major distinction between the two iPhone models.

However, since the iPhone 7 Plus is expected to feature a dual-camera setup, it’s very likely that camera will remain one of the biggest reasons why people opt for the larger model. It’s expected that the iPhone 7 will stick with the single lens setup.

The picture shows that the purported camera module as small cutouts as well as the springs and equipment required to enable the lens to float slightly which is what makes optical image stabilization possible.

Apple hasn’t confirmed anything about its new iPhones yet, it hasn’t even confirmed when the announcement is going to take place. Rumor has it that the iPhone 7 will be announced on September 7th, pre-orders will be opened on September 9th and it may be released on September 23rd.
