However it seems that this year’s Nexus handset could be getting its own exclusive launcher. The folks at Android Police have recently learnt that the Nexus handsets this year could be getting their own launcher that is different from the ones we have been seeing in the Android 7.0 Nougat builds that have been released to date.
It seems that with this launcher, Google will be doing away with the need for a dedicated app drawer button. Instead it almost feels like they’re following in Apple’s footsteps with iOS by creating a “frosted glass” section at the bottom where users can place certain key apps, and from there, users will be able to swipe upwards to pull up the list of apps installed on their phone.
The report also claims that Google has moved the search widget where instead of it being a bar at the top, it now exists as a pull-out tab from the left side of the phone. That being said, safe to say that this should probably be taken with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys make of what you see so far?
