Xiaomi for the most part has largely sold its products through its online store, or through third-party resellers, but apparently this is something they want to change in the future. The company has recently announced their plans to launch more brick-and-mortar stores in the future to help encourage offline sales.
Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun revealed that they will be building over 1,000 physical stores over the next few years, with an estimation that these stores will be able to pull in as much as 50 million Yuan per month from sales alone. The idea of companies moving more towards offline shouldn’t really come as a surprise.
Amazon, another company famed for its online presence, has launched their own physical stores and have also announced plans to build more stores moving forward. Xiaomi’s stores are expected to feature an array of the company’s products, like it smartphones, TVs, drones, rice cookers, air purifiers, and more.
