Windows 10 Upgrade Remains Free For Users With Accessibility Needs

About a week ago we reminded you guys that Windows 10’s free upgrade would be ending on the 29th of July. This means that by now if you haven’t upgraded to Windows 10, you would be flat out of luck. However this only applies to regular users, and that users who require accessibility or have assistive needs will still be able to upgrade for free.

In a post on Microsoft’s blog, “With the end of the free Windows 10 upgrade offer today for the general public, we want to remind customers who use assistive technologies that the deadline will not apply to you.” They have also created a special website for users who want to find out more about the upgrade.

As for when this upgrade extension will end, Microsoft did not say when so for now, if you are a user with assistive needs then maybe you should hurry up and upgrade before this offer ends as well. As for the rest of us, it seems that it’s too bad that the offer has ended, but there are some who claim that you could find a way around it.

There is a video on YouTube that suggests that turning back your clock to the 28th of July will bring up the upgrade prompt. We’re not sure if this works for everyone or if Microsoft has found a way to fix this exploit, but if you’re so inclined you could always give it a try.
