Twitter is getting really serious about streaming content on its service. It has just announced that a deal has been signed with financial news network Bloomberg to stream three of the network’s shows on Twitter. Twitter is already a great place to share information related to the markets so Bloomberg fits rights in. This is the first such streaming deal that Twitter has inked with a financial news network.
Shows that are going to be streamed on Twitter include With All Due Respect which is a political analysis show, a show about technology news called Bloomberg West and What’d You Miss? A show which provides global financial news after the close of the U.S. trading day.
Twitter recently signed a video partnership with CBS to stream both the Republican and Democratic national conventions. It already has a deal with the NFL to stream Thursday Night Football which it dipped its toes in the streaming waters by bringing live content from the Wimbledon tennis championships last week.
“Partnering with Bloomberg will give people on Twitter the best way to see live financial markets performance combined with the live commentary on the underlying drivers and implications,” Twitter’s CFO Anthony Noto said.
No further details about this deal have been revealed as yet, financial terms have not been disclosed.
