Brazil is playing host to the 2016 Olympics and millions of people are going to visit the country to attend the games. More than 100,000 Americans are expected to visit the country in person and T-Mobile is looking to capitalize on that. T-Mobile has announced that its customers will get access to free high speed data roaming in Brazil so that they can snap, share, skype, and scope all of the festivities without having to worry about running out of mobile data.
Starting August 1st, T-Mobile customers will be able to use high speed mobile data – up to 4G LTE – for free throughout Brazil. The free data offer will be live for the entire month of August. Moreover, calls inside Brazil and back to the United States will be free.
That’s not all. Families of athletes representing the United States at the 2016 Olympics will receive free T-Mobile service as well as a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and even the Samsung Gear 360 camera for free.
Simple Choice postpaid customers don’t have to jump through any hoops to get free data for Brazil activated. It will be switched on automatically for all users so mobile data will work without any cost to them the moment they step off the plane on or after August 1st, 2016.
