According to Roger Sole, Sprint chief marketing officer, “We welcome Pokémon Go players to visit their local Sprint and Boost Mobile stores to capture some of the monsters in town. Our knowledgeable staff will help you download the game on your phone, explain how it’s played, locate PokéStops in the area and even provide a power up for your device so game players can continue their adventures fully charged.”
Is this move an altruistic one? Probably not, and we pretty certain that it is in response to T-Mobile’s announcement yesterday where they said that Pokemon GO will no longer consume data for T-Mobile customers, and where they also offered up free drinks at Wendy’s, discount on Lyft rides, and 50% off charging accessories.
However it is still a pretty neat offer all the same so if you’re in need of some advice or maybe to juice up your phone, hit up your local Sprint store. In the meantime we have to wonder if we will see similar offers from the likes of AT&T and Verizon.
