So far the heroes in Overwatch have been more or less established, but this does not mean that Blizzard is done. A couple of months ago, there were rumors that Blizzard could be adding a new hero to the game called Sombra, who according to the story was one of the original Overwatch members and the mother of Pharah, another character in the game.
However the character did not launch in the time that it was speculated it would, but we could be getting close. According to a recent tweet by Blizzard, they have posted what appears to be blueprints for a sniper gun that can apparently heal. As you can see in the image above, it describes how this gun will be used by medics in the field for healing purposes.
This has led some to speculate that Overwatch’s new hero could be a sniper-healer type of character, where instead of having to run up close and personal to their targets, this character can instead heal other players from afar, although the exact extent of the range remains to be seen. Interestingly enough, this gun has been spotted in images where Sombra can be see wielding it.
Unfortunately there is no date as to when we can expect this new hero, but for players who want to play support but hate having to dive into the chaotic midst of battle, this is definitely a character to look forward to.
