If you just can’t have enough storage on your PC then perhaps you should take a look at what Seagate has announced today. The company has come out with a new line of hard drives today that is available in up to 10TB capacity. These hard drives are meant for PCs, surveillance systems, and network-attached storage. Seagate calls it the Guardian series.
The company also announced today that it’s bringing back the Barracuda brand for its desktop and laptop hard drives, a name that it previously replaced with Desktop Hard Drive a few years back. The spelling of this brand has now been changed to BarraCuda.
The new series brings a 2TB increase over the previous line of Seagate hard drives meant for consumers and small businesses. The Guardian series is made of the BarraCude Pro for desktop, the SkyHawk for video surveillance systems, and the Seagate IronWolf for network-attached storage applications.
Seagate BarraCuda Pro is now available in capacities of up to 10TB with 7,200rpm spindle speed and data transfer rate of up to 220MB/s. The company offers a five year limited warranty with this hard drive. The 10TB Seagate BarraCuda Pro is priced at $535 and it’s available starting today from retailers across the nation.
