Yesterday the folks at Square Enix have confirmed the launch date of Rise of the Tomb Raider for the PS4 which is set for the 11th of October, which is pretty much the same date as an earlier leak. The game was initially released on the Xbox 360, the Xbox One, followed by the PC, meaning that the PS4 is the last to get it.
That being said, gamers can pretty much look forward to the same game that other gamers have been enjoying for a while now, and according to a statement Square Enix made to VideoGamer, the company is aiming at getting the game up to a resolution of 1080p and maintaining a framerate of 30fps.
According to Square Enix’s statement, it seems that the company is “still optimizing the game, and our target is 1080p at a minimum of 30fps. Anything beyond that is a bonus.” It should be noted that this is pretty much the same experience on the Xbox One, although during cutscenes it actually dipped from 1080p to 1440×1080.
We suppose it would be fair for the PS4 version to maintain the same specs as the Xbox One, lest gamers cry foul/favoritism, but we suppose anything “better” would always be welcome, right?
