Last month Sony confirmed what the rumors were saying, which was that the company was working on an upgraded version of the PS4 called the PS4 Neo. Unfortunately apart from the confirmation, Sony did not share any details about the console or when it would be launched, although last we heard it could be seeing a release in 2016.
Now it looks like we might have a potential date to look forward to. According to a recent listing spotted on Amazon Spain, it seems that the retailer has listed the PS4 Neo for a release on the 13th of October. The listing has since been deleted either because it was uploaded ahead of time, or the information was wrong. However either way this is the first specific date that we have heard so far.
An October launch would be interesting. Sony has yet to reveal the specifications and features of the console, and with reports that Sony will not be holding a press conference at Gamescom 2016, this means that either Sony plans to hold their own conference between now and October, or the console will be launched with any kind of announcement beforehand, which would be odd and very uncharacteristic of Sony.
However if the 2016 release date is true, Sony could be getting a leg up on Microsoft whose Project Scorpio Xbox will only be seeing a release in the fall of 2017.
