Prisma is a new photo app that has quickly become popular with users on iOS. The app was initially released only for iOS so Android users have had to wait for a while, but it’s here now. Prisma for Android has finally gone live today after briefly becoming online last week. The app has now been officially released for Google’s mobile platform.
There is absolutely no shortage of apps that will apply filters to your photos, and while Prisma can be considered as one of those applications, it’s unique because it makes photos look like paintings.
Prisma features 36 filters each of which makes photos look like paintings. Each filter comes with an option that enables you to adjust the intensity of the effect and also enables you to add a little flair to the photo. The app automatically crops photos to square as well and provides quick share links to easily upload the photo to Twitter and Facebook.
Android smartphone owners can finally try out Prisma and see whether it’s an app they see themselves using over the long term, once the original hype has died down. Prisma is free right now with no in-app purchases.
Prisma is live now and readily available for download via the Google Play Store.
