The good news is that if you are a T-Mobile customer, you won’t have to worry about the game eating up all of your data. T-Mobile has announced that Pokemon GO will no longer eat into your data allowance. This will be kicking off on the 19th of July where not only will the game not consume your data, but customers can get free Lyft rides up to $15 to a new PokeStop or Gym, free Wendy’s Frosty, and 50% off selected accessories like chargers and power packs.
They will also be holding some kind of lucky draw where up to 250 customers can win $100 worth in PokeCoins. According to John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile, “With the carriers’ shared data schemes, players could easily burn up the family’s data bucket – and then, hello, overages! At T-Mobile, we’re unleashing Pokémon Go so our customers can play free for a year. It’s gonna be a fantastic T-Mobile Tuesday!”
As he states, this offer only applies for a year so don’t expect it to run forever. Customers will also need to opt in via the T-Mobile Tuesdays app as it will not automatically be applied to their accounts, so make sure that you have opted in before getting too excited about the free data. Then again, we’re not sure how long the popularity of Pokemon GO will last anyhow so we guess a year is a pretty good offer.
