Sonos users take note: Plex has arrived. The home audio company makes some amazing products that make it very easy for people to have a working audio setup across their entire home, one that they can pair and control remotely. Plex seems like a natural fit for such a setup and the company appears to think so too which is why it’s brought this popular service over to Sonos.
Plex’s new Sonos service enables users to browse and play their entire Plex music collection on any Sonos device right from the Sonos app.
Users get all of the library and discovery features of Plex coupled with the abilities of Sonos to provide an appealing listening experience. Sonic fingerprinting will be available for Plex Pass users while metadata will be open for everyone else to that their collections can be easily sorted. Users will also be able to access their Plex music library from a remote Sonos device.
Plex is currently available in beta for Sonos. It can be accessed in the Sonos Labs section of the app. The company has created a guide which provides a walk-through of the feature and guides users on setting it up, the guide can be accessed here.
