Sony’s PlayStation Vue TV streaming service will soon become very attractive to sports fans, football fans in particular. It has been announced today that both NFL Network and NFL RedZone will soon be available via PlayStation Vue. NFL Media has signed a deal with Sony for national distribution of NFL Network and NFL RedZone on its internet TV streaming service. Both live TV channels will be added to Vue in time for the 2016 NFL football season.
The NFL Network channel shows Thursday Night Football games as well as shows like A Football Life, NFL GameDay Morning, analysis, highlights, and more. NFL RedZone airs all touchdowns as well as additional highlights in real time every Sunday as it cuts from one stadium to the other.
Dwayne Benefield, vice president, head of PlayStation Vue, revealed that sports is among the most-watched content on PlayStation Vue, which is why it makes perfect sense for the company to add two highly coveted sports networks to the service. None of the two channels are available on PlayStation Vue rival Sling TV.
Sony is yet to confirm on which Vue package NFL Network and NFL RedZone will be available. There are three Vue packages being offered currently that are priced from $30 to $55 per month, based on which city the user lives in. This important bit of information will likely be confirmed prior to the channels going live on PlayStation Vue.
