Ahead of Overwatch’s release, Blizzard did state that Overwatch characters could eventually find its way to Heroes of the Storm, which for those unfamiliar is a MOBA by Blizzard that features a roster of characters from Blizzard’s entire portfolio of video games, even the old 8-bit video games from Blizzard’s past.Tracer did find her way into the game, and the good news is that Blizzard isn’t done. Speaking to the folks at Destructoid, Heroes of the Storm’s Lead Hero Designer Kent-Erik Hagman revealed that feedback to Tracer’s inclusion in the game has been largely positive, and that based on this, they are open to the idea of including more Overwatch characters in the game in the future.
“I’d say the reaction to Tracer has been overwhelmingly positive! She has such a fun, almost militantly- positive personality that brings a unique voice to the Nexus. Having seen how our players reacted to her, you can definitely say that we’re looking at adding even more Heroes from Overwatch! There are so many awesome characters that we think would make great, unique additions to Heroes of the Storm.”
Given how Overwatch’s characters all feature different skills and functions, it does seem like it would complement Heroes of the Storm. Unfortunately this is not a confirmation so don’t get your hopes up too high just yet, but if you had to choose, which Overwatch character would you like to see arrive in Heroes of the Storm?
