Pokemon GO has been released for barely less than a month and it seems to have taken the world by storm, with people of all ages and from all backgrounds knowing and hearing about the game. The most recent one and the one that seems to be going viral is from somewhere you might not necessarily expect: an MMA fight.
During a recent Bellator MMA fight in London between Michael “Venom” Page and Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos, Page landed Santos with a rather vicious flying knee to the head (the sound of that knee on skull could be heard throughout the arena), essentially winning him the bout in the process.
Now in the past we’ve seen MMA fighters celebrate in a variety of ways, such as dancing, doing backflips, falling to their knees, or just walking off, but what Page decided to do was don a Pokemon hat, grab a fake Pokeball from one of his trainers, and rolls across the floor to his downed opponent, trying to “catch” him in the process.
We suppose it was kind of funny but it was later discovered that Santos suffered a rather serious skull fracture that could threaten his future in the sport. In Page’s defense, he probably did not realize the seriousness of the injury while he celebrated.
