Dubbed Microsoft Pix, this is an app developed by Microsoft Research that will soon be making its way onto iOS. Unlike other camera apps that just snaps photos, Microsoft Pix dubs itself as an intelligent camera app that will try and capture the best moment. How this works is that the app will snap a burst of photos, thus allowing users to choose the photo that they think works the best.
There is also Automatic Live Image which detects motion when the app is open. From there, it will automatically create a looping video. Apple has a similar version for the iPhone 6s called Live Photos, but the difference is that the Microsoft Pix app will only begin recording when it detects movement, which could potentially cut down on the amount of space used.
Unfortunately the app isn’t available for iOS just yet but it is planned for a release soon, so keep an eye out for it if you’re in the market for a new camera app.
