There have already been a couple of rumors about the iPhone 7 release date but nothing has been officially confirmed as yet. We recently heard that the handset is going to be out in the week of September 12th and today we’ve come across a rumored release date on which the iPhone 7 is said to be available in retail stores across all launch markets.
The latest from noted leaker @evleaks is that the iPhone 7 is going to get its retail release on Friday, September 16th. In that case, this would mean that the launch event takes place either on the 12th or 13th of September.
Obviously, we won’t know that for sure until Apple sends out invites for its media event and that’s likely to happen by mid-August. Apple traditionally releases new iPhones in September and there’s really no reason to believe that it’s going to take a break from tradition in 2016.
Apple is expected to post a decline in iPhone sales in its most recent quarterly earnings tomorrow owing to saturation in the high-end market and customers holding off to purchase the new iPhone instead. Apple will certainly be looking to reverse this slide with the iPhone 7 which many believe is more of an evolutionary update rather than a revolutionary update that many were expecting.
