Companies like OnePlus had warned customers about potential price increases due to the currency and while they have yet to put those price changes into effect, HTC has announced that they will, and that the HTC Vive VR headset will now be more expensive in the UK, something that we’re sure customers can’t be too thrilled about.
In a post on their website, HTC says, “HTC continuously monitors and adjusts pricing to ensure we are providing our customers with the best value possible. Due to recent currency valuation changes and the current value of the GBP we are adjusting the price of the HTC Vive in the UK to £759 + P&P. The adjustment will come into effect on Monday 1st August.”
Earlier this year when the headset was launched, it was announced that it would cost £689, meaning that the price increase is around £70. We suppose price increases happen all the time, but we have to say that this is a pretty big one.
