That being said for iOS users who do rely on Google Photos, you will be pleased to learn that Google has pushed out a minor update for the app, bumping it to version 1.12.1 in the process. While the update might be minor, there are some changes and improvements that we’re sure users will be able to appreciate.
One of those changes includes speed improvements where the app will now startup faster than before. If slow launch times has always been one of your gripes, this should be a welcome change. There is also the introduction of a new cropping tool so you can crop photos within the app instead of using other apps.
The app will also now consume less battery and cellular data, and there is improved support for burst photos. The updated version of Google Photos should already be available in the iTunes App Store which you can download it from if you haven’t set your updates to be automatic already.
