Last week a screenshot surfaced that showed some of the alleged limitations of the iris scanner. Unfortunately the screenshot was in Chinese, but the recently leaked screenshots help paint a better picture thanks to the folks at Android Authority who managed to get their hands on these screenshots.
Basically the screenshot above is a disclaimer for the feature in the event that it does not work as advertised. There are many reasons listed as to why the feature might not work, such as the user having puffy eyes, or positioned incorrectly, or when glasses are worn, or after the user might have gotten a LASIK or LASEK lens implant, and so on.
If anything it sounds like the iris scanner on the phone will require users to have a lot of conditions met first before it will work, which we have to say does sound a bit restrictive. However we have yet to take the feature out for a spin so we can’t say with certainty how well it actually works, but hopefully it will perform as admirably as we saw in an earlier video.
