Back when cameras on phones used to be a novelty, there really wasn’t that much emphasis placed on image quality and megapixels. Today it’s an entirely different story as there are some phones whose cameras can rival those of compacts. Samsung so far has proven their prowess in the camera field, so what’s in store for their next flagship?
According to earlier rumors, it was suggested that the Galaxy Note 7 could pack a 13MP rear-facing camera, how it seems that now thanks to a listing on Zauba, it has been revealed that the phone might come with a 12MP camera instead. Interestingly enough this is somewhat of a “downgrade” over its predecessor.
The Galaxy Note 5 came with a 16MP rear-facing camera, so we’re not sure why the Note 7 would feature a smaller megapixel count. That being said, megapixels aren’t necessarily everything as understanding image composition, lighting, and other features are what makes for a great photo.
However we have to admit it does seem odd that Samsung would feature a lower megapixel sensor, but then again maybe they do have their reasons. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but do check back with us on the 2nd of August which is when Samsung will be revealing the phone officially.
