Facebook Messenger is now capable of doing so much more than just helping you stay in touch with your friends and family. The world’s largest social network has made considerable improvements to the features that it offers and continues to improve it. Facebook Messenger can now be used to book an UberPool ride, this eliminates the need for users to switch between the apps and get it done from within Facebook Messenger directly.
This isn’t the first instance of integration between Facebook Messenger and the ride-hailing service Uber. Facebook actually launched Uber integration in Messenger back in December last year. It’s just now getting the ability to book a shared UberPool ride.
Booking and sharing an UberPool ride from Messenger is very easy. Just tap on the car icon or More – that’s three dots – and tap on Request a Ride. Select the POOLx1 option if you’re requesting a ride for yourself or POOLx2 if you are looking for two seats in an UberPool for you and a friend.
Facebook Messenger users can now access this functionality using the official app on both iOS and Android. This feature is currently only available in markets where the ride-hailing service is offering UberPool alongside its conventional offerings.
