Apple Pay users would like to know a very big pharmacy chain in the United States has started testing Apple Pay. Even though it’s not making any commitments right now about support for Apple Pay, CVS has now started testing Apple’s mobile payment service as it evaluates different mobile payment options to make life easier for customers who want to pay on the go with their smartphones.
Select CVS locations are now accepting Apple Pay as a mobile payment method, reports suggest that the tests have been ongoing since about a month even though there’s no news on what CVS is making of all this.
The pharmacy chain clarified through Twitter that it’s only testing Apple Pay at this point in time, this doesn’t mean the service is necessarily going to be added as a payment option. The company points out that it’s currently not officially accepting any NFC-based mobile payment service like Apple Pay.
CVS says that it’s currently in the process of evaluating mobile payment options for its customers so who knows how long it’s going to take before the company devices which mobile payments service to go with.
Rival pharmacy chains like Walgreens and Rite Aid have long added support for Apple Pay so users must feel that it’s about time CVS added support too.
