When it comes to building your own computer, one of the things that you should look out for would be how your computer handles heat. Some DIY builders prefer the use of liquid cooling solutions, but if you’d rather not spend the money on a liquid cooling setup, fans are probably your next best bet.
Now if you are in the market for fans, you might be interested to learn that Corsair has a new fan available as part of their ML-series of fans, and while computer fans aren’t exactly new, Corsair’s latest fans are rather interesting thanks to the fact that they rely on maglev technology. What this means is that with the use of magnets, it suspends the blades of the fans away from the central bearing of the fan’s motor.
This results in a fan that not only spins quieter, but is more reliable at high speeds and will also last longer due to the fact that there is little to no friction involved. This will apparently allow the fan to operate at speeds of 2400 RPM at 37 decibels of noise. There will be two sizes available: 120mm and 140mm.
Depending on the space in your case and your needs, you could opt for either model. There are optional LED lights if that’s your thing, and they will cost between $25 to $40 depending on the size and if you’ve chosen any LEDs to accompany them.
