It wasn’t too long ago that Bose unveiled its SoundSport Wireless headphones. These headphones were wireless and were designed for active users in mind, meaning that if you wanted a pair of wireless headphones for use at the gym that can withstand the likes of sweat, these were the headphones for you.
However it seems that for some users, it wasn’t. Despite Bose advertising them as being sweat-proof, there were some users who discovered that the headphones weren’t as sweatproof as they’d like. Thankfully Bose has managed to figure out what was causing the problem and have since updated its lineup.
In a statement made to CNET, Bose’s president and CEO Bob Maresca said, “We found that SoundSport is sweat and weather resistant, but for a small percentage of people it wasn’t working right under pretty specific conditions related to heavy sweat and moisture.” Bose will also be offering affected customers who got a replacement unit the option of receiving the updated model when it is released.
They also have the option of requesting a refund with no questions asked. According to Maresca, “Our priority is to do whatever we need to make it right. It doesn’t matter if it’s a small percentage or not. We want everyone who bought a SoundSport wireless to have a great experience, and we’re all obsessing over that now, including me.”
