Those who own a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 on AT&T have something to look forward to today. The carrier has finally released the much-awaited Marshmallow update for this tablet. The AT&T Marshmallow update for Galaxy Tab S2 is now being rolled out over-the-air and it brings all of the bells and whistles that you would expect from an Android 6.0.1 release. The update is headed to the Galaxy Tab S2 model number T817A on AT&T.
Marshmallow continues to be the latest iteration of Android until Android Nougat arrives in the coming weeks. Devices like the Galaxy Tab S2 are just now being upgraded to Marshmallow even though it has been close to a year since this update was initially released.
It goes without saying that users will have to wait for a considerable time before Nougat is released for their devices, but that’s familiar territory for Android device users, fragmentation on this platform is a legend in its own right.
AT&T has updated its support page to reflect that the Galaxy Tab S2 is now receiving an over-the-air update which bumps up the tablet to Android 6.0.1, adding all of the new features and improvements that are included in this release. It also brings the latest security patches for this tablet.
