Apple Patent Lets The Apple Pencil Work On The Mac’s Trackpad

apple pencil trackpadOver the years we’ve seen how Apple has tried to transform their Mac computers and MacBooks into pseudo-iOS devices. For example we’re starting to see more “communication” between iOS devices and Mac computers, and let’s not forget the trackpads on MacBooks which allows users to interact with it like a touchscreen display.

So what’s next for Apple? Thanks to a recently discovered patent, it seems that Apple could be toying with the idea of allowing users to use the Apple Pencil accessory on the trackpad. No doubt this would open up a lot of possibilities, and it could even do away with the need for a drawing tablet if its features were as rich.

However it should be pointed out that the patent was filed back in 2014, plus the Pencil described in the patent seems to be more sophisticated than the current iteration, and seems to be able to work as an air mouse and a joystick. However this doesn’t mean that Apple isn’t considering such features that could be added at a later date.

In any case we suppose you should probably not get your hopes up just yet, but in the meantime what do you guys think? Would you love to see Mac trackpads gain support for the Apple Pencil and its features?
