In case you missed the announcement from last week, Ana is aimed at players who don’t necessarily like to get into the thick of the action. Most support/healing classes in Overwatch require gamers to actually be in the middle of the action as their healing range isn’t that far. This means that teamwork is essential as you need to keep your team alive, and your teammates need to ensure that you don’t die as well.
However in the case of Ana, she’s similar to characters like the Widowmaker in Overwatch where she can snipe from afar, but instead of dealing damage, Ana’s ability is to heal, meaning that she will be able to heal her teammates from a distance. The only downside is that this usually means that Ana will be alone, thus making her easy pickings for enemies when they discover her.
In addition to introducing Ana to the game, the patch will also see Blizzard make some balance changes to two characters: Zenyatta and D.Va, so check it out if you haven’t done so already.
