Last year Apple launched the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, which means that this year we can probably expect its successor, assuming that Apple is keeping to its annual refresh cycle of its products. If you’re wondering how true those rumors are, you might be interested to learn that the folks at AppleInsider have managed to get their hands on photos of the alleged device.
The device pictured above doesn’t really look too different from its predecessor, meaning that assuming it’s the real deal, Apple will be maintaining the design. So what makes AppleInsider think it’s the iPad Pro 2? The model number assigned to the tablet is MH1C2CD/F, which has not been assigned to any current or past iPad models.
In fact AppleInsider notes that it is very different from past naming schemes which would be rather odd for Apple to deviate from. That being said, we should note that as far as iPad Pro 2 rumors are concerned, there hasn’t been much information on that front. This year’s Apple rumors seem more concentrated towards the iPhone 7 and the MacBook Pro.
Of course this doesn’t mean that Apple has nothing in store for the iPad series, it’s just that there hasn’t been much information so far. In any case take it with a grain of salt, but perhaps we’ll learn more in the later part of the year.
